Flexible Riser Release System Yazdır ePosta

The MIB Emergency Release System was first developed back in 1974 for use on low pressure, low temperature and cryogenic dock installations. The system has subsequently been adopted by users world-wide to significantly enhance the safety, operator and environmental protection at their terminals.

In 1980 this technology was extended to offshore installations, in particular systems for the protection of flexible risers on floating production and/or storage vessels. These systems require a much higher pressure rating, special materials, high external loading etc. MIB systems of this type now have an extensive track-record in the offshore arena.

The Emergency Release System (ERS) allows for the rapid disconnection of flexible riser(s) in the event of unplanned situations, excessive vessel excursion or other such occurrences.

ERSThe key features of the MIB ERS system are:

  • Quick and safe emergency release

  • Integral ball valves (optional)

  • 25 years design life

  • High angular release

  • Field proven design

  • Pressure up to 10000 psi

  • Sweet and sour service

  • Minimal maintenance

  • Built in testing features

  • ESD valving

The major component parts of the ERS are:

  1. Upper half, including Emergency Release Collar and structural support.

  2. Lower half and suitable end fitting for direct bolting to the flexible line.

  3. Upper and lower ball valve (optional).

  4. Guidance and pull-in facilities.

  5. Reassembly equipment.

  6. Ancillary items necessary for the safe and reliable operation of the equipment as well as interface necessary for ERS operations
